The Masked Singer, Fans think Broccoli is this Popular Musician

With the masked Singer semi-final airing next week, fans have largely locked their guesses for the remaining seven singers. One singer, in particular, Broccoli, may have moved young audiences, but older audiences have already taken note of his familiar pipes. The most popular broccoli theory is that it is a Canadian-American singer and songwriter Paul Anka.

If Lorelai Gilmore named her dog after the musician, the size of your Paul Anka Intel, there is a sense of urgency: he was born in 1941 in Ottawa, Canada. By age 13, he had his vocal group. He finally released his first song. "Blue-Wile-Divest Fontaine." It was not until 1957 that he struck it hard. But he met Don Costa at ABC-Paramount Records in New York City and signed a contract with him until he played the song "Diana". And "Diana" topped the charts, turning Anka into a youth figure from the 1950s. Anka continued the theme song of The Tonight Show, starring Johnny Carson, and the lyrics of Frank Sinatra's "My Way". He has written over 900 songs and was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters' Hall in 2008.

Broccoli's biggest hint is that Anka, of course, is his voice. In the October 28 episode, Broccoli performed Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jerry Lee's "House is Rockin'/Whole Lotta Shakin Going On." As Candy Willis-Ruwan pointed out on Facebook, Anka has performed that particular song in the past, and that voice is similar to Broccoli.

The clues line up with Anka. In the October 28 package, Broccoli said while sitting in front of the Campbell Soup Can," a contest greased the wheels for my career"  According to Anka's website, he won a trip to New York to win a Campbell soup contest, where he met Don Costa. Broccoli described himself as a "humbled to work with the biggest artists." In Anka's autobiography, My Way, he writes that he is afraid to travel with artists such as Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino. Broccoli also said he was "in the shadow of greats" and had big shoes to fill; Similarly, Anka once hung out with Frank Sinatra, and in 2019 Sinatra made an extortion tour.

Of Broccoli. On the 4th package, viewers received a hint of "Foodfellows", often referring to Goodfellows, who eventually played a version of "My Way". The box also featured "Copabana", and according to the New York Times, Anka starred in Copacabana as a teenager in 1961.

While fans like Broccoli true identity as Cheech Marin and Joe Pesci floated around in other possibilities, it's a bit hard to deny how many points Anka's path shows.
